ATTCV at Fête de la Châtaigne in Camps-la-Source

The 11th Chestnut Festival in Camps-la-Source this year took place on Sunday October 20, 2013, in the center of the village. The usually calm village was this day invaded by a large crowd of visiters, most of them arriving by car. The mostly gray sky and light rain did not deter people from visiting this popular festival.

As during previous festivals, the ATTCV arranged for a short train service from the village's railway station on the Gardanne - Carnoules line. The station building is nowdays privately owned, but ATTCV has the possibility to load and unload passengers on the tracks passing the station. Passengers, who arrived from the village either on foot or on a horse-drawn carriage, were taken for a return trip both in the direction of Brignoles and in the direction of Carnoules. The draisine (track inspection railcar) has a seating capacity of more than a dozen people.

Views at the stands in the village center

The Festival had the usual stands where you could buy various locally and elsewhere produced food products - and of course chestnuts.
